Fashion and footwear mogul Steve Madden is the new owner of a plush condo along Billionaires’ Row. The founder and former CEO of his namesake shoe company has purchased a five-bedroom, 6.5 bathroom condo within the SOM Architects-designed tower at 252 East 57th Street, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Madden’s new abode spans an impressive 4,624 square feet, with five bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and interiors helmed by Daniel Romualdez. Like most of the building’s units, this apartment comes equipped with high ceilings, dramatic columns, a massive eat-in kitchen, and walls lined with oversized windows that give phenomenal views of Manhattan’s skyline and the East River. Other features include a gas fireplace, three walk-in closets, a washer/dryer, a library, a 100-bottle wine refrigerator, and a balcony.
The apartment was last listed with Stribling for $13.7 million but it seems that Madden was able to get himself a bargain, purchasing the home for $12.2 million.
