A pair of low-rise warehouses were demolished to make way for seven-story luxury rental that’s now under construction at the corner of Kent Avenue and North 3rd Street, just a few blocks north of the Williamsburg megaproject at the Domino sugar refinery site.
The project at 187 Kent Avenue will have a total of 96 apartments, retail on the ground floor and basement level, and parking for 170 cars. The developer on the project, CW Realty, recently acquired a $78 million construction loan on the project, allowing the development to move forward.
So far, the developer has announced that the building will have a fitness center, and feature terraces on floors two, six, and seven. Construction on the project is expected to wrap in the spring of 2019. The building will be located across from the massive Austin Nichols house, and next to the rumored site of Williamsburg’s Trader Joe’s.
For CW Realty, 187 Kent Avenue is just their latest project in the neighborhood. They developed another rental building at 292 Bedford Avenue, and are currently working on a residential conversion at 119-123 Kent Avenue.
