For as much as we know about Central Park Tower, there’s 10 times as much that we don’t know. Make no mistake, developer Extell likes it that way. That’s why every bit and bob of information about the building comes largely from outside sources.
The latest player to pierce the mystique of the city’s future tallest residential building is none other than Nest Seekers broker Ryan Serhant, who took to Instagram to share some news: he’s made one of the first residential sales within the building.
“Excited to announce I’ve sold one of the first units at Central Park Tower (the most exclusive supertall on Billionaire’s Row) with jaw dropping views of the park from every room!!!,” Serhant writes. “But please don’t tell anyone. The building isn’t even on the market for sale yet : - ).” Very cute, Serhant.
The first hint that the building is moving towards sales came earlier this year when The Real Deal secured photos of the building’s sales gallery, sporting a model kitchen with hammered metal cabinets and a book-matched marble backsplash.
Central Park Tower, previously known as Nordstrom Tower for the seven-story flagship store the retailer will occupy in the building’s base, is due to top out at 1,550 feet in 2019. Extell has yet to confirm pricing for the building’s 179 condos, but reports put them between $1.5 million and $95 million, with 20 asking $60 million or more.
As for Serhant, he’s remaining tight-lipped about the building. In a statement to Curbed NY he writes, “I love the building and my buyers are very happy. It’s unlike anything in the world.”
