Welcome back to The Six-Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.
Earlier this week, we looked at an itty-bitty West Village studio that generated a lot of chatter—much of it incredulous that the small space was asking just under $500,000. And indeed, if you head away from the uberpricey neighborhoods of lower Manhattan, you’ll find plenty of spacious, well-designed apartments at a fraction of that cost.
Take, for instance, this Inwood one-bedroom, which spans 850 square feet and is asking just $379,000. It may not be at the center of Manhattan, but it does have location going for it; it’s situated in a co-op building on Cooper Street, just one block from both Inwood Hill Park and the A at 207th St.
Both the living room and bedroom are nicely sized, with a fair amount of closet space; the kitchen has abundant storage, and was recently spiffed up with new cabinets and appliances. Plus, maintenance comes in at $687/month, with building amenities like private storage and a laundry room.
Listing: 60 Cooper Street #1J [Compass]
