The building is expected to launch leasing sometime this spring

New renderings have emerged for the Moinian Group-developed rental building on Eleventh Avenue, between West 43rd and 44th Streets. The New York Times first published the renderings as part of a feature on the large-scale residential development taking place on the western corner of Hell’s Kitchen.

Located at 572 Eleventh Avenue, the building stands 13-stories tall, and has now been named Oskar after the Moinian Group’s former director of development, Oskar Brecher, who died in 2016, according to NYT.

The building has a total of 164 apartments, of which 46 are affordable units. The lottery on those kicked off in December last year with apartments asking from $596/month. The market-rate units meanwhile will start from about $3,000/month for a studio, and $4,500 for a one-bedroom. The CetraRuddy-designed building will feature a mix of studio through three-bedroom units, and leasing is expected to get underway sometime in the spring.

The head of the Moinian Group informed NYT that the project was originally supposed to be a condo, but now that it’s a rental, the developers decided to retain many of the high-end finishes they had planned for the building. Residents in this building will also have access to the amenities at Moinian’s nearby Sky development, one of the largest rental developments in the country, for an extra fee.
