A newly constructed affordable rental building, designed by Dattner Architects, has launched the affordable housing lottery for 130 of its apartments in the South Bronx’s Mott Haven.

Located at 491 Gerard Avenue, the building is a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. The lottery (PDF!) offers apartments across two income brackets: individuals and families earning 60 percent of the area median income (AMI) can try their luck on an apartment priced anywhere between $865 to $1,289/month, while those earning 90 percent of AMI can apply for units that go from $1,049/month for a studio to $1,831/month for a three-bedroom.

Below is the complete breakdown of qualifying incomes for the various apartments that are up for grabs:

As part of the amenity package, residents will get access to the building’s community room, bike storage, recreation space, laundry room, parking lot, and roof deck.

The building is part of a larger development that will bring a total of 293 new apartments to the area once complete. A 13-story building being constructed nearby at 530 Exterior Street will offer 157 apartments.

Applications are being accepted through March 5.
