Though Harlem has gotten increasingly expensive over the years, a bit of sticker shock still creeps in when we come across pricey apartments. So here we are: A penthouse along Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard has made its way to the market with a $8.975 million asking price and while it’s steep, the condo just may warrant that amount.

According to the listing description, the five-bedroom home spans more than 5,800 square feet and includes more than six bathrooms. There are 11-foot ceilings throughout, huge windows with multiple exposures, a corner living room with a wood-burning fireplace, and a formal dining room. The expansive “kitchen lounge” features sleek cabinets, an island, four (!) Miele ovens, two dishwashers, and two refrigerators.

If you head down the main hall, you’ll eventually end up in the family/cinema room, where there is a 120-inch motorized retractable movie screen. Past that is a climate-controlled wine cellar that can hold 1,000 bottles (!!), a home gym, and a home office.

The master suite is bigger than some NYC apartments, spanning 800 square feet, with a wood-burning fireplace, a walk-in closet, windowed dressing room, and a marble bedecked master bathroom.

The penthouse also offers a laundry room with a LG washer and dryer, a staff room, and countless closets. However, the real star of the show is the 4,000-square-foot roof terrace that features a Wolf barbecue grill, an outdoor kitchen with all-weather stainless steel cabinets, a dining table that can seat 12 people, two cabanas that are both fully furnished, and excellent views of Central Park and the city’s skyline. Oh, there’s also a basketball court and a dog park up there as well (yes, we’re serious).

And if that’s not enough, the building offers a few amenities of its own, including a playroom, fitness center, bike storage, and a common roof deck.
