See what you can get in the neighborhood that will soon be home to Amazon’s HQ2

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man’s studio another man’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today, we’re looking at apartments renting around $2,450/month in Long Island City—future home of Amazon’s HQ2.

Nest Seekers LLC

The listing for this compact studio, located on the corner of 49th Avenue and 21st Street, boasts that it is “within 10 minutes from the Amazon headquarters” and rents for $2,408/month. The apartment may not offer much in terms of square footage, but there are some nice details: a sleek open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, recessed lighting, and large windows with neighborhood views. On 24th Street, a one-bedroom with an open-concept layout is going for $2,429/month. You get a spacious living room, an open kitchen with a breakfast bar and custom cabinetry, oversized windows, and a private balcony. The building offers plenty of amenities, too: a roof deck with skyline views, a fitness center, a communal landscaped courtyard, and on-site parking.

Rent this 502-square-foot condo for an even $2,500/month. The studio apartment is complete with floor-to-ceiling windows and a washer/dryer, and you get a designated parking space. The home is on the eighth floor of a 13-story building along Jackson Avenue.

Within a full-service, luxury building on 27th Street is this contemporary studio with hardwood floors, high ceilings, an open kitchen with custom cabinetry, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Building amenities include a children’s playroom, a gaming lounge, a screening room, and a rooftop observation deck. It’s renting for $2,406/month.

If you don’t mind renting within a private home, there’s this renovated two-bedroom within a home on 43rd Street and 23rd Avenue, which features an open kitchen with an island, a sizable dining area, a full bathroom, and a private patio. Utilities are included in the rent, which is $2,500/month.
