Check out studios, combo units, and triplex apartments

Welcome to the weekly Open House Tour, because who doesn’t love a little real estate gawking? This time around, we’re looking at what’s on the market in the East Village.

$450,000 can buy you this compact co-op that’s located on the third floor of a six-story building on East 13th Street. There is an eat-in kitchen, a modest-sized living room with two wood-framed windows, and a queen-sized bedroom with exposed brick walls (and a very sad window view). Monthly maintenance will run you $863. [Floorplan]

When: Sunday, December 2 (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., by appointment only)

This serene co-op on East 7th Street is currently a studio but an alternate floorplan shows that it can be transformed into a one-bedroom. The current open layout features nine-foot ceilings, a dining room with a built-in banquette, a renovated kitchen with glass front cabinets, and two closets for storage. Asking price is $699,000 and monthly maintenance is $550. [Floorplan]

When: Saturday, December 1 & Sunday, December 2 (by appointment only)

The listing description says that this one-bedroom co-op, asking $985,000, has been thoughtfully renovated, though we think there’s still some room for improvement. On the plus side, the apartment appears to receive plenty of natural light and even offers views of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. Though the windowed kitchen has been given new stainless steel appliances, its breakfast bar and backsplash gives more of an old-school vibe. There are three closets throughout and a windowed, subway-tiled bathroom. Maintenance charges are $1,491/month.

When: Sunday, December 2 (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Two one-bedroom co-ops are being offered as a combo sale for $895,000. The units can be combined two create a two-bedroom (or even a three-bedroom), two-bathroom with an expansive living room, a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a walk-in closet, and an open kitchen with a breakfast bar. A lot of work would have to go into this revamp, but it could be worth the effort. Monthly maintenance is priced at $1,224. [Floorplan]

When: Sunday, December 2 (1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.)

And finally, there is this multi-level co-op that encompasses 1,252 square feet with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The triplex loft pulls out all the stops, offering a screening room on the lower level, a living room with exposed brick wall and built-ins, a contemporary kitchen, a home office that can be converted into a bedroom, and an upper level loft area that serves as a master suite with a dressing room. Asking price is $1.395 million and monthly maintenance is $1,734. [Floorplan]

When: Sunday, December 2 ( 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.)
