With sales set to launch in spring next year, we now have our first look at the latest condo rising on Brooklyn’s Fourth Avenue. This particular street has been previously referred to as as the “canyon of mediocrity,” due to its bulky buildings and lack of greenery, but this latest addition at 243 Fourth Avenue is on the smaller side.
The building, which is now known as Parlour, will stand 12-stories tall and bring 19 new apartments to the neighborhood. These apartments will be either full or half-floor residences, and prices are expected to start from $1.6 million. Halstead Property Development Marketing’s the Aguayo Team is handling sales and marketing at the condo.
The building was designed by INC Architecture & Design. Apartments here will come in two through five-bedroom variants and have features like open-flowing interiors, arched windows, and terraces or balconies that offer up Manhattan skyline views. The condo will also have a suite of amenities, but those haven’t been announced yet. The overall design of the condos here is meant to invoke Brooklyn’s brownstones.
This project was at one point being developed by Haysha Deitsch, a controversial landlord who is perhaps best known for his war against the residents of the Prospect Park Residence, a retirement home he used to own. He eventually reached a $3.35 million settlement with five of the senior home’s residents, but subsequently defaulted on that payment. Parlour is now being developed by Brodmore Management Inc.
The project at 243 Fourth Avenue was first announced in 2015, and replaces two auto body shops along the avenue.
