Studio Gang’s High Line-hugging ‘Solar Carve’ gets its curtain wall

The 12-story office building is getting close to completion

It’s been more than six years in the making, but Studio Gang’s High Line-hugging office building at 40 Tenth Avenue is finally in the final phases of construction before it’s complete. Earlier this year, the building—named Solar Carve—topped out and now, the installation of its sculptural curtain wall is complete.

Developers Aurora Capital Associates and William Gottlieb Real Estate announced the completion of the glass curtain wall, which features a “gem-like,” chiseled shape that will prevent the building from casting shadows on the adjacent park and will result in fewer glares and solar heat issues from within.

The 12-story, 139,000-square-foot building has more than 40,000 square feet of retail space, 18-foot-high ceilings, eight floors with private outdoor space, and more than 20,000 square feet of outdoor space, including a 10,000-square-foot shared roof deck.
