The sleek, garage-replacing rental tower at 222 East 44th Street between Second and Third avenues known as Summit New York will finally hit the market in January 2019.
Ahead of the launch BLDG Management, the tower’s developer, has unveiled the first interior renderings of the building, alongside a website featuring nine preview listings with floorplans. Those listings, which will be handled by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, range from a 12th floor studio that will ask $3,370/month to a 22nd floor two bedroom, two-bathroom apartment that will seek $7,850/month.
The Handel Architects-designed building will offer 429 market rate apartments ranging from studios to three-bedrooms with interiors by Escobar Design by Lemay. The trapezoidal rental tower is BLDG’s first ground-up project in New York, and has been designed by Handel to maximize the building’s views (which will include Grand Central Station, just two blocks away, in the foreground.)

In addition to a through-block circular drive court and on-site parking, building amenities will include a gym with basketball and squash courts, an indoor swimming pool and sauna, a screening room, a children’s playroom, an outdoor terrace, and a lounge and dining room on the 42nd floor.
The housing lottery for the building’s 109 affordable apartments opened in April.
