It’s official: Nomad is getting another luxury condo tower, courtesy of the Rockefeller Group and Mitsubishi Estate New York. The Real Deal reported that the developers have filed plans with the city’s Department of Buildings for a 46-story condo at 30 East 29th Street.
News about this development first emerged in May 2017 when the developers were in contract to buy three contiguous buildings on East 29th Street for $74 million from a group of developers including Extell.
Plans filed with the DOB reveal that the 46-story building will have 123 apartments and stand nearly 600 feet tall. CetraRuddy is listed as the architect of record of the project, which will measure about 170,000 square feet in total.
The trio of the buildings that currently exist on the site, located between Madison and Park Avenues, just north of Madison Square Park, will be demolished to make way for the condo. Demolition plans were filed last year, but there’s no word yet on when construction or demolition work will get underway.
