Free bus service to LaGuardia Airport returns for Presidents Day weekend

New, 1 comment

Free service starts today and will continue through Tuesday February 20

Following a similar promotional scheme around Thanksgiving last year, the LaGuardia Link Q70 bus service will run free of cost over Presidents Day weekend. Starting today the service will offer free connections from terminals B, C and D at LaGuardia Airport to the subway and LIRR transit hubs in Jackson Heights and in Woodside, Queens.

The service will remain effect through Tuesday, February 20, and both the Port Authority and the MTA are expecting about 370,000 passengers to use the service over the holiday weekend.

Though short-lived, the news will come as somewhat of a relief to New Yorkers and visitors who have had to contend with much longer commutes to LaGuardia owing to the massive amount of construction work taking place at the airport as part of its modernization efforts.

In addition to the free bus service, the Port Authority is also offering an hour of free parking at its new Terminal B parking garage. After the first hour it will go up to $5 per half hour and $39 for the day.
