For $970K, a ‘fashionable’ Chelsea co-op with sleek updates

It’s located on one of Chelsea’s prettier blocks

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

This Chelsea two-bedroom has gotten quite a makeover in the nearly three years since it last sold, for $795,000. Previously, the space was a little drab with a kitchen that was functional, but outdated (and very much about the wood cabinetry).

But after being “meticulously renovated” by the current owners, it’s got a much more contemporary feel: The kitchen is now all polished white and walnut, with a center island that also has a washer and a dishwasher; the bathroom has been similarly updated, with new tiles and storage space.

Though it’s billed as a two-bedroom, the second of those spaces is rather small, and would probably work as a nursery (as it’s currently being used) or home office. The rest of the space has some of the apartment’s original details (like exposed brick) along with some new finishes, including custom wainscoting and new floors.

And it’s got location going for it: The co-op is located on West 19th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.

The asking price: $970,000, with maintenance at $1,207/month. It’s listed with Chris Clowdus and Goura Rivera of Cooper & Cooper.
