Bruce Willis snags another Upper West Side apartment at One West End

When Die Hard and Pulp Fiction star Bruce Willis first listed his Central Park West apartment back in January, he made it clear that he’d be staying in the neighborhood when it came time to buy another NYC home. “I’ll always be an Upper West Side guy,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “I’ve been living up here on and off since the ‘70s.”

And indeed, Willis and his wife, Emma, have landed in the neighborhood once again, albeit further south and west than they’re used to. The Wall Street Journal reports that the couple is now in contract on a four-bedroom, more than 3,000-square-foot condo at One West End, the luxury condo building that’s part of the larger Riverside Center megaproject.

But after a few years of trading up, the couple has downsized—well, inasmuch as a 3,000 square foot condo can be considered “downsizing (ah, to be a celebrity). The Central Park West pad that they listed last month—and which found a buyer in less than a week—was a 6,000-square-foot, duplex with 150 feet of frontage on the park. They sold the place because they wanted to “scale back,” according to Ann Cutbill Lenane of Douglas Elliman, who’s repping the couple. The One West End pad was last listed for $7.9 million.

According to the WSJ, the Willises looked to One West End because of its amenities, which include a 12,000-square-foot rooftop garden, a 75-foot swimming pool, a children’s playroom, and private dining rooms. The apartment’s kitchen—“which features a dedicated pastry-making area and a built-in coffee-machine system”—was also, apparently, a draw.
