A newly constructed residential tower located at 29 Cliff Street in the Financial District has launched the affordable housing lottery for 30 of its apartments. The units are a mix of studios, one-, and two-bedrooms and there are three income earning brackets under which applicants can apply.
The building, dubbed the Exhibit Downtown, is a 24-story rental tower, developed by Socius Development Group and designed by Hill West Architects with 120 apartments. While market prices for currently active listings range between $3,000 per month for a studio to $7,295 a month for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, the affordable listings give those who qualify a chance to land a home for as low as $613/month.
Individuals and families earning either 40, 60, or 130 percent of the area median income, or between $22,903 and $124,020, depending on what category you fall into, can apply (PDF!) between now and April 23. Here’s what the full breakdown looks like:

For an additional fee, those who secure one of the affordable apartments can get access to the building’s myriad amenities that include a fitness center, yoga room, game room, demo kitchen and dining room, wine storage room, extra storage extras, roof deck, and bike storage. Amenities included without additional charges are a laundry room and a 24-hour doorman.
