The building will rise on an empty lot next to the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank headquarters

A 26-story hotel and condo building is set to rise next to the former headquarters of the Williamsburgh Savings Bank at the intersection of Broadway and Driggs Avenue, right across from the Williamsburg Bridge.

YIMBY reports that Cornell Realty picked up the site for $26.2 million, and now plans to plop a 26-story tower on the currently empty lot. As plans stand right now, there will be a total of 251 hotel rooms and 21 apartments, which YIMBY says indicates condos.

The hotel will take up the first 16 floors of the building, and the apartments will be located on the floors above that, averaging three to four apartments per floor. The units will measure 860 square feet on average.

Amenities announced so include a fitness center, a swimming pool on the eighteenth floor, and bicycle storage. Plans filed with the city’s Department of Buildings list Stonehill Taylor Architects as the applicant of record.

The adjacent bank building underwent a three-year restoration and now operates as an events space known as Weylin.
