Welcome back to The Six-Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

The layout for this one-bedroom co-op along East 12th Street in the East Village is a fairly simple one and the space doesn’t come with a ton of fancy features. But in the crazy world of New York City real estate, an apartment asking $585,000, at this size and in this location isn’t bad for the East Village. Let’s take a look at what it offers.

Upon entering, the foyer leads you past two closets on opposite sides of the hallway, past the bedroom and bathroom, and into the open living room and kitchen. While it may be narrow, the space features high beamed ceilings and an abundance of natural light that give the illusion of more space. The windowed kitchen area is small with very little counter space and is a far cry from the “white-on-white dream” that the brokerbabble describes it to be, but it has potential for improvement.

The bedroom is also, er, cozy, but manageable and the bathroom has been given a modern design. All in all, the 500-square-foot apartment (listing description measurements, not ours) is a decent place for those who want to live in the thick of East Village action.
