Just months after debuting its New York City flagship hotel in Times Square, Moxy Hotels is gearing up to open its second NYC location.
This time around, the Marriott-affiliated hotel brand has chosen to set up at 26 Ann Street in the Financial District, just steps away from the World Trade Center. The 30-story hotel is being developed by Mark Gordon along with Tribeca Associates and will offer 298 rooms as well as retail space, reports the New York Post.
The Moxy Hotel location downtown will offer a series of perks intended to attract a younger clientele. In this case, that will include a basketball court, vintage video games, a 5,000-square-foot club/venue, and a series of different food and drink options. Gordon also told the Post that a “Times Square-quality” LED wall will occupy the ground-floor lobby, serving as a “virtual window” that will lure people into the hotel.
A definitive opening date hasn’t been set yet but it is on the books to open sometime during this summer. We’ll keep you posted as more intel becomes available.
Correction: An earlier version of this piece misidentified the neighborhood Moxy will be opening this hotel in; Curbed regrets the error.
