Bjarke Ingels’s twisting High Line condos will soon launch sales

Several new details have emerged for the twisty Bjarke Ingels Group-designed buildings next to the High Line, in a recently published New York Times profile on the project. On top of that list of details is the sales launch date for the development: May 7.

The news of the impending sales is also accompanied by three new renderings for the HFZ Capital Group-developed buildings. These new renderings give us our first close up of the travertine-clad hotel and condo development. There’s also a view of the project’s porte cochère, and a first interior rendering for one of the apartments (presumably on one of the upper floors) that shows off panoramic NYC views.

Ingels explained to the Times that the buildings are designed the way they are to maximize views and light for all the apartments. The taller building is narrower at the base, and the shorter structure is narrower on top.

Apartments at the XI—previously stylized as The Eleventh—will come in a mix of one-bedrooms through four bedrooms. One-bedrooms will ask from $2.8 million, two-bedrooms from $3.9 million, three-bedrooms from $6.5 million, and four-bedrooms from $9 million. The project will also have half-floor penthouses starting at $25 million.

The XI will be comprised of three distinct structures: a 36-story building with 149 condos; a 26-story building with the Six Senses hotel running up to floor 10, and 87 condos above that; and a shorter structure on the southwest corner of the overall property that will have a Six Senses spa and club, along with an art space. The structures will be connected by a glass skybridge on one of the lower levels.

Gabbelini Sheppard will work on the interiors at the taller building and Gilles and Boissier have been retained to design the hotel in the shorter tower, and the condos above that. The project’s central courtyard and porte cochère will be designed by Enzo Enea. In addition, BIG has also envisioned a pavilion with restaurants and retail, and park beyond that, all part of the overall project. James Corner Field Operations and Diller Scofidio + Renfro will design this portion of the project.

“Our whole idea is to create a resort environment in an urban setting” Ziel Feldman, the chairman of HFZ Capital Group, told the New York Times. Construction on the project, located at 76 Eleventh Avenue, is expected to wrap in the fourth quarter of 2019.
