Renzo Piano Building Workshop’s first residential building in New York City, 565 Broome Soho has unveiled the first of its penthouses, which is now on the market for a staggering $40.5 million. Spanning 6,655 square feet, this massive duplex penthouse is the northern penthouse in the building and features four bedrooms, and four and a half bathrooms.
At its current asking price, the apartment is certainly one of the most expensive homes for sale in the city, but not quite expensive to land on the list of the city’s 25 most expensive homes for sale right now.
Getting back to the apartment, the lower level has a double height great room with floor to ceiling windows; two terraces that open up on either side of the great room; and a kitchen that comes with integrated Miele appliances.
All four bedrooms are located on the upper level (the study on the lower level can function as a fifth bedroom, and it has a terrace to boot). The master bedroom here has access to two walk-in closets and the master bath has radiant heated flooring. Another plus is that each of the four bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom.
One of the standout features of the penthouse is the 2,500-square-foot private roof deck which comes with a 20-foot long, heated, outdoor swimming pool. Aside from that, the apartment has 360 degree NYC views, a private elevator in addition to the private elevator landing, and interiors by the Parisian firm Rena Dumas Architecture Interieure.
Sales at the 30-story dual-tower condo launched back in September 2016 with apartments asking from just under $1 million. Dozens of apartments here are in contract, but of the ones available prices range from $2.075 million to $14.5 million (aside from the penthouse, of course).
The project is being developed in collaboration between Bizzi & Partners Development, Aronov Development and Halpern Real Estate Ventures, and construction is expected to wrap later this year.
