After four years, Fredrik Eklund is moving on from his Tribeca condo. The Douglas Elliman broker and Million Dollar Listing New York star, purchased an apartment at 290 West Street with his husband, artist Derek Kaplan, in 2014.
But Eklund announced on his Instagram that they’re now seeking a new tenant for the space: It’s for sale for $6.5 million, or on the rental market for $22,500.
Eklund confirmed the move to Curbed, noting that since his family has grown—he and Kaplan welcomed twins at the end of 2017—they’ve outgrown the three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment. (They also own a large home in Connecticut, featured frequently on Eklund’s ‘gram.)
The Tribeca apartment is located at 290 West Street, the Adjmi & Andreoli-designed building that sits right at the neighborhood’s northwestern edge. Eklund’s apartment was designed by Paris Forino, and has plenty of luxurious touches, including a marble-drenched master bathroom, a Molteni&C Dada kitchen, and customized everything, from the bookshelves to the closets to the oversized fireplace.
The listing also talks up the apartment’s 50 linear feet facing the Hudson River, and the fact that it comes with “arguably one of New York’s best sunsets.” Naturally, Eklund himself is repping the sale, along with fellow Elliman brokers John Gomes and Lisa Interdonato.
