Extell’s Hudson Square condo unveils $8.5M penthouse with huge roof deck

New, 23 comments

The penthouse at 70 Charlton has a roof deck bigger than most New Yorkers’ apartments

Extell’s brick-clad condo at 70 Charlton Street launched sales nearly three years ago, but it looks like the megadeveloper was holding out on one of the building’s most impressive units. One of its penthouses—penthouse D—just hit the market today, asking a cool $8.495 million.

Million Dollar Listing New York star Steve Gold—who recently landed at Corcoran after the dissolution of Town’s residential real estate arm—is repping the property in his first major project for the firm. (Does this mean it’ll show up in a future episode of MDLNY? Time will tell—the new season does premiere on June 12.…)

Gold tells Curbed he’s “excited” to work with Extell on this particular place; the apartment, he says, “is a stunning, move-in-ready penthouse with private roof deck terrace—all within a full-service building that’s second to none.”

And indeed, it is a pretty nice space; the 3,193-square-foot pad has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, and it comes with an enormous roof deck—one that’s bigger than most New Yorkers’ apartments, really. (And it could be kitted out as a new owner sees fit.)

Like the rest of the units at 70 Charlton, this penthouse has sleek, modern interiors by Workshop/APD; stand-out features include an open kitchen with tons of space, walls o’windows with stellar views, and a master suite with a dressing room and a walk-in closet. A set of stairs leads from the common area to the expansive roof deck.

The building’s amenities are predictably posh—this is Extell, after all—and include a landscaped courtyard, an indoor saltwater pool, a fitness center, and a 24-hour concierge.
