Riverdale might be a hike away from Manhattan, but if you don’t mind the distance, it’s a neighborhood full of lovely homes that offer an out-of-town feel, despite still being within city borders. One of the latest to hit the market is this five-bedroom, four-bathroom abode, asking a steep $3 million, but offering lots of perks that may just justify the price tag.

The listing description notes that the home sits on half an acre within one of the neighborhood’s “historic original estates” named Dodgewood. The square footage for the house itself isn’t listed, however, don’t let it’s modest exterior fool you—the photos suggest that it is huge.

The living room features a floor-to-ceiling windows, a wood-burning fireplace, and ceiling heights reach more than 10 feet. The kitchen is bedecked with a huge granite island, oversized windows, custom Italian enamel cabinetry, a crowning skylight, and access to a patio that is connected to the lovely family room. A nearby dining room offers access to the front porch by way of French doors.

Throughout the home, you’ll find details that include vaulted ceilings, custom built-ins, window seats, and plenty of sunlight. As far as outdoor space is concerned, there is lots of it: there is a verdant green backyard, a spacious front yard, and room to roam on either sides of the house. There is also a mudroom, along with a two-car garage.
