Hudson Yards may be getting more press this year, but another megaproject on Manhattan’s far west side—Brookfield’s Manhattan West—continues to move forward.

Back in January, the developer announced that Two Manhattan West, a 58-story office tower, would be completed in 2022. And now, another element of the development—which includes offices, apartments, and NYC’s first Pendry hotel—is coming into focus.

Brookfield announced that it will open a 10,000-square-foot venue created by hospitality and experience design company Elemental, whose partners have worked on some of the city’s buzziest concert venues and restaurants. The complex will have a restaurant and bar, as well as a theater that will hold 300 people standing (or 160 people seating), the New York Post first reported. The venue is expected to open in 2021.

“We will be combining immersive entertainment technologies of the 21st century with the elegant designs of old New York variety theaters,” Warren Adcock, part of the Elemental team, said in a statement. “It’s our goal to innovate with every experience and to create a new home for storytelling in NYC with narrative magic shows, intimate music experiences, and never-before-done theatrical productions.”

Manhattan West spans eight acres, stretching from 31st to 33rd streets between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. In addition to the new concert venue, the development has six buildings and will soon be home to a restaurant by Union Square Hospitality Group’s Danny Meyer.
