Charming historic houses abound in Prospect Park South, especially in streets like Marlborough Road, which is filled with rows of trees and Victorian homes. Though this townhome that just listed, asking $2.978 million, is not part of the area’s designated historic district, it is as stunning as its surrounding ones.

The 3,553-square-foot, three-story townhouse has four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a roof terrace, a sunroom, and a landscaped garden. It comes with an in-unit washer/dryer and a dishwasher.

Originally built in 1918 as a single-family mansion, the house was renovated and converted into two separate townhouses. This particular one was renovated while keeping plenty of its old-world details: Decorative wainscoting, coffered ceilings, parquet floors, a restored curved staircase, and a wood-burning fireplace.

Perhaps one of the house’s most stunning details includes its vaulted ceilings and a stained glass cupola. Aside from the cupola, the living room door also boasts stained glass.

It’s located at 56 Marlborough Road, between Church and Caton avenues, mere steps from Prospect Park and near the B and Q trains at Church Avenue. Taxes are $717/month and common charges $629/month. Laura Rozos of Compass has the listing.
