What $1.5M buys in NYC right now

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Today, we’ve found five apartments within $20,000 of today’s price: $1.5 million.

Tribeca

An artist’s loft in a Tribeca co-op building is asking $1.5 million. The apartment is a large, open space, with partitions added to create a living room, large studio, and bedroom. There are large windows, original hardwood floors, and exposed brick throughout. The kitchen is small but functional, and the apartment has a washer/dryer hookup.

Upper West Side

An Upper West Side two-bedroom with one bathroom is going for $1.499 million. The apartment has a large living room that comes with built-ins and a wood-burning fireplace; the kitchen has new appliances, cabinets, and a breakfast bar. Each of the two bedrooms comes with plenty of closet space. And the location—on West 81st Street close to Central Park—can’t be beat.

Boerum Hill

This Boerum Hill three-bedroom is huge—it measures 1,300 square feet, according to the listing—and comes with plenty of nice features, including built-in bookshelves, elevator access, and two terraces. There’s a smaller room that could function as an office, as well as plenty of closet space. It’s located on Bergen Street between Third and Fourth avenues, with plenty of transit options nearby. The asking price is $1.5 million.

Upper East Side

A three-bedroom on the eastern edge of the Upper East Side—it’s located on 62nd Street between First and York avenues—is going for $1.495 million. It has a huge living room/dining room area and a brand new kitchen. There are two full bathrooms, including one off the master bedroom, and there’s lots of closet space throughout.

Dumbo

And finally, in Dumbo, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment that comes with a terrace is asking $1.495 million. It’s a chic space, with a large chef’s kitchen—new appliances, marble countertops, and the works—and a “spa like” master bathroom with new fixtures. The two bedrooms are nicely sized, and the building itself has perks like a gym and a roof deck.
