Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man’s studio another man’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today, we’re looking at apartments renting around $2,400/month.

Midtown East
A 550-square-foot studio in Turtle Bay is renting for $2,399/month, and if that seems like a lot, know that it also comes furnished. The space may be small, but it gets a good amount of light and has a separate kitchen (rather than the open ones typically seen in smaller apartments). It’s located on 49th Street between Second and Third Avenues.

Astoria
For something with a bit more space, head to Astoria, where a one-bedroom with a balcony is going for an even $2,400/month. There’s a large living room with enough room for a dining area, a spacious kitchen, and a bedroom that can fit a king bed. Pets aren’t allowed, but on the bright side, it is rent-stabilized.

Park Slope
In Park Slope, a one-bedroom that’s close to public transit (the F and G trains at 15th Street-Prospect Park) is asking $2,400/month. The apartment is the full floor of a house on Windsor Place, and in addition to its one bedroom, it has a small office area and a separate kitchen. Pets aren’t allowed here, either.

Upper East Side
A one-bedroom on the eastern edges of the Upper East Side is renting for $2,399/month. The apartment isn’t exactly huge—the kitchen doesn’t have much cabinet space, and the bedroom can fit a bed and not much else—but the location is good and the space is bright and clean.

Prospect Lefferts Gardens
And finally, in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, a renovated three-bedroom is renting for an even $2,400/month. There’s plenty of space, and a renovated kitchen (but only one bathroom). The apartment is located close to the 2 and 5 trains just off of Nostrand Avenue.
