Alloy Development’s Brooklyn Bridge Park condo One John Street has all but faded from the news since the building swiftly sold off its 42 condos in 2016. But one of those condos has returned to the market, and with a notable name attached, no less: The apartment on offer is one of the building’s four penthouses, being sold by restaurateur Michael Chow who’s behind upscale Chinese chain Mr. Chow. It’s listed for $6.495 million through Compass.

The apartment features stunning East River and Manhattan Bridge views that could only be afforded by a property that practically abuts the waterfront, and all the natural light that comes along with that. The penthouse covers 2,600 interior square feet over three levels, including the 750-square-foot private rooftop terrace. The entertaining floor is sandwiched between the bedrooms, on the 11th floor below, and the rooftop terrace, and features a 26-foot-wide open concept main room.

The courtyard provides access to the rooftop terrace and brings light into the back of the apartment.

The kitchen features rough-sawn oak Italian cabinetry by RiFRA, high-end appliances, and a stone-topped center island. The apartment’s most unusual feature is its courtyard, which functions as both an access point to the rooftop terrace, and a source of light at the back of the apartment. The penthouse has three bedrooms in total, including two secondary bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a master suite with a walk-in closet.

Chow purchased the penthouse for $5.77 million in October 2016, one year after a neighboring penthouse in the building became Brooklyn’s then-priciest sold condo at $8.8 million.

The private rooftop terrace is one of just four in the building, and comes with a gas grill hook-up.
