Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man’s studio another man’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today, we’re looking at apartments renting around $2,900/month.

This Long Island City studio is renting for $2,923/month. It has one bedroom, one bathroom, tons of closet space, and an in-unit washer/dryer. The building—which is rent stabilized—has a bike room, a gym, indoor basketball court, three roof decks, and parking. It’s located near the 7 train at Court Square.

Flatbush

This new Flatbush two-bedroom apartment is going for $2,889/month. It is accessed through a private keyed elevator and it has one bathroom, a living room, balcony, dining area, in-unit washer/dryer, and a mini split heating and cooling system. The building has a ton of amenities including bike storage, parking, and a large rear deck. It is located near Prospect Park as well as the 2 and 5 trains at Church Avenue.

Windsor Terrace

Two-bedrooms inside a two-story house where only cats are allowed, in Windsor Terrace, are going for $2,900/month. It has a living room, back garden and patio, a dining room, and kitchen with space for an additional dining table. There is a shared washer/dryer in the basement. It’s located steps from Prospect Park and a couple of blocks from the F and G trains at Fort Hamilton Parkway.

Murray Hill

This Murray Hill studio is going for $2,899/month. It has one bathroom, 11-foot-high ceilings, a dishwasher, and a separate dressing area that could also be used as a home office. The building has a roof deck and bike storage. It’s located on 35th Street and Park Avenue, a couple of blocks away from the 4, 5, and 6 trains at 33th Street, and a 12-minute walk from Madison Square Park.

Chinatown

This Chinatown one-bedroom apartment is asking $2,875/month. It has a living room, open kitchen with an island and a dishwasher, a renovated bathroom, exposed brick, and an elevator in the building. It’s located right in front of Columbus Park and a short walk to the J and Z trains at Canal Street.
