A new condo located at 76 Schermerhorn Street, at the crux of Brooklyn Heights and Downtown Brooklyn, has officially launched sales.
Developed by Lonicera Partners, Orange Management, and The Davis Companies, the 13-story project, known as The Symon, has 59 one- to four-bedroom units. The name was inspired by a very New York personality: Symon Schermerhorn, who was the patriarch of the family of the same name—he’s known for his involvement in the Schenectady massacre, and the family went on to have a long history in the borough.
While Colberg Architecture is the project architect, Studio DB designed both the building’s exteriors and interiors. The project’s facade features hand-laid brick, arched windows, and a canopied entrance.
“Our vision for The Symon is deeply rooted in the rich story of Brooklyn Heights,” Britt and Damian Zunino of Studio DB said in a statement. “We drew inspiration from historic buildings and elements throughout the neighborhood, while infusing contemporary details throughout.”
Apartments will start at $795,000, the developers say, but those currently listed start at $805,000 for a one-bedroom and $1.225 million for a two-bedroom, $1.775 million for a three-bedroom, and $3.350 million for a four-bedroom penthouse. All units have large panel doors, crown molding accents, and oak floors. Some of them include private outdoor spaces. Stribling Marketing Associates will handle the units’s sales.
As for the building, it will have a common rooftop terrace, a gym, and a children’s playroom. It sits between Court Street and Boerum Place, near the 4 and 5 trains at Borough Hall, and a walkable distance to Cadman Plaza Park.
