A Queens house where President Donald Trump lived as an infant is now going up for auction after failing to sell for $2.9 million earlier this year, the New York Times reports.
The 2,500-square-foot Tudor-style house, located at 85-15 Wareham Place in the wealthy Jamaica Estates enclave, has five bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and an enclosed patio. Taxes for the property this year were $9,587.
The auction for the property will wrap up on November 14. Bidders should submit their written offers and a refundable 10 percent deposit. Paramount Realty USA is managing the sale. The auction site says that participating bidders will have to purchase access to Due Diligence Information that comes with floor plans, photos, and a copy of Trump’s birth certificate.
“I’m sure there are investors, especially Trump supporters—and maybe even some Trump haters—who would love to buy the property,” Misha Haghani, founder of Paramount Realty, told the Times.
Trump lived in the home, which was built by his father Fred Trump in the 1940s, from when he was an infant up to when he was four years old. The home garnered attention in 2016 when it was listed for $1.65 million by a former owner who sought to capitalize the Trump candidacy at the time. After the election, the property sold to a Chinese investor (listed as Trump Birth House LLC) for $2.1 million and was later rented through Airbnb for $725/night.
The house is filled with Trump images and memorabilia, including a cutout of him standing in a corner of the living room.
