Closings on the ultra-luxe, High Line-hugging condo began last month, and now, it’s reached the inevitable next step: apartments hitting the rental market.
As Zaha Hadid’s futuristic West Chelsea condo wraps up construction, it’s a good time to check in on the status of the late starchitect’s New York projects in progress.
Nearly two dozen apartments at the development are already in contract, according to StreetEasy, and the new model homes are likely to spur more sales at the condo before the opening.
The developer is hoping to entice gallery owners back to the neighborhood with "the High Line Nine," a new space for art, along with galleries in Hadid’s pricey West 28th Street condo.
Construction is moving right along on the late Zaha Hadid’s curvy condo at 520 West 28th Street. It’s only been a few weeks since we last checked in with the project, and in that time, more of its glass and metal facade has been put in place.
The late architect’s firm is now working on two condo projects located just blocks apart in Chelsea. The first one at 520 West 28th Street has been fitted with much of its facade. Plans have officially been filed for the second at 220 Eleventh Avenue
The $50 million penthouse of Zaha Hadid's High Line condo and two remaining penthouses at Herzog & de Meuron's 56 Leonard Street came to market. In total, the three penthouses are asking over $100 million.
