For first time buyers, maybe those who need a little time to save up for a down payment, a rent-to-own agreement can be a good way to skip all the waiting. There was a time when lease-purchases were all the rage. In 2008 the Times had a whole article about how rent-to-own could be a viable alternative when loans were out of reach. Ten years earlier, in 1998, Big Pun rapped, "Penthouse suite, penthouse freaks / In-house beach, French countess, ten thou piece / Rent-out lease, with an option to buy,” on his hit single "Still Not a Player." Nowadays, a good rent-to-own is hard to come by. Maybe it's a sign of things improving, but we're still a little sad to see them go. After the jump, we've compiled a map of the few rent-to-own listings we could find. If you know of any more, don't hesitate to let us know in the comments.
(If you're actually considering entering a rent-to-own agreement, it might be worth it to check this out.)
