As Zaha Hadid’s futuristic West Chelsea condo wraps up construction, it’s a good time to check in on the status of the late starchitect’s New York projects in progress.
Their work can be seen on the existing corrugated metal walls and gates of what will be the hybrid gallery-eatery space, High Line Nine, on Tenth Avenue, between West 28th and 27th Streets.
A 62-story building with 990 apartments will rise at 601 West 29th Street, and a smaller, 32-story building with 206 apartments will rise at 606 West 30th Street (if the transfer of air rights is approved of course).
Nearly two dozen apartments at the development are already in contract, according to StreetEasy, and the new model homes are likely to spur more sales at the condo before the opening.
The developer is hoping to entice gallery owners back to the neighborhood with "the High Line Nine," a new space for art, along with galleries in Hadid’s pricey West 28th Street condo.
