The brokerbabble for the latest listing in the Baccarat Hotel & Residence promises "life at the pinnacle of luxury," and judging from the pictures of the $23.8 million full-floor listing, that’s hardly an understatement.
These represent sales that closed between January and June of 2016, so expect things to change by the end of the year—who knows, maybe that $120 million Upper East Side co-op will find a buyer after all.
The sale took its own sweet time however — just over three years, and it actually points to a new trend in the luxury market — that apartments are sitting on the market for an average of nine months. And it’s gotten worse compared to last year.
The duplex penthouse of the Baccarat Hotel & Residences on West 53rd Street has finally entered contract after three years on the market. Its sale price has yet to be disclosed, but the apartment was most recently listed for $54 million.
