Construction has wrapped up almost a decade after the project was first announced

The corten steel cube, created by artist Tony Rosenthal, was removed in 2014 to facilitate renovations, but it’s finally moving back to its rightful spot.
After three years of construction, the 8,000-square-foot public plaza is open at Astor Place and other work is scheduled to wrap by this fall.
